Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 482563  Size: SH
  1. Remove the right instrument panel (IP) insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement .
  2. Open the IP compartment.
  3. Release the loop of the damper cord (1) from the IP support.
  4. Remove the screws from the IP compartment hinge.

  5. Object Number: 326100  Size: SH
  6. Press inward on both sides of the IP compartment housing and rotate down and out of the IP.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 326100  Size: SH
  1. Align the instrument panel (IP) compartment housing to the IP.
  2. Press inward on both sides of the IP compartment housing and rotate upward and into the IP.
  3. Hand tighten the screws to the IP compartment hinge.
  4. Align the IP compartment housing to the IP for the proper fit.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the screws to the IP compartment hinge.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  8. Open the IP compartment.
  9. Connect the loop of the damper cord (1) to the IP support.
  10. Close the IP compartment.
  11. Install the right IP insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement .
