Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the instrument panel (IP) compartment latch. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Door Latch Replacement .

    2. Object Number: 482565 Size: SH
  2. Set the IP compartment latch fork (1) in the closed position.
  3. Insert the key (2) into the, IP compartment lock cylinder.
  4. Rotate the IP compartment lock cylinder with the key clockwise to 3 o'clock (locked) position.
  5. With the key in position, apply light load and depress retainer tumbler through poke hole (3) , of the IP compartment latch.
  6. Rotate the key until the IP compartment lock cylinder rotate to about the 5 o'clock position, to line up the notch at the rear of the IP compartment lock cylinder with the tab in the IP compartment latch housing.
  7. Remove the IP compartment lock cylinder and key from the IP compartment latch.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 482565 Size: SH
  1. Set the instrument panel (IP) compartment latch fork (1) in the closed position.
  2. Grasp the IP compartment lock cylinder and depress the tumblers flush with the IP compartment lock cylinder surface and insert the key.
  3. Insert the IP compartment lock cylinder and key (2) into the IP compartment latch housing with the front projection pin at the approximate 8 o'clock position. The IP compartment lock cylinder will drop into place.
  4. Rotate the key counterclockwise until it stops.
  5. Remove the key. The IP compartment lock cylinder is now locked into the IP compartment latch housing.
  6. Install the IP compartment latch. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Door Latch Replacement .
