1. Disconnect the mirror connector.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
3. Set the gear selector lever to the reverse position.
4. Use a test light to probe between the inside rearview mirror connector terminal 3 and ground.

Does the test light illuminate?

1. Disconnect the transaxle range switch connector C1.
2. Use a test light to backprobe between the transaxle range switch connector C1 terminal B and ground.

Replace or adjust the park neutral position (PNP) switch. Refer to Park/Neutral Position Switch Replacement or Park/Neutral Position Switch Replacement and Park/Neutral Position Switch Adjustment or Park/Neutral Position Switch Adjustment in transmission/ transaxle for service procedure.
