Recently, GM Service and Parts Operations (SPO) made some changes to the Techline Information System (TIS) application. The changes in programming procedures were designed to prevent a technician from programming an Electronic Control Module (ECU) with a calibration that is older than what the vehicle was built with.
In order to successfully program a replacement ECU, it is important to follow these instructions:
If this option is not selected and a programming event is attempted, the following error will occur: "E2906:Calibrations marked with an asterisk (*) are not recognized by this TIS 2000 release. They are either newer than what is available on this TIS 2000 release, or they are non-GM calibrations. Please contact the Customer Support Center."
If after following this procedure the error message is still displayed or if the programming event was not successful, contact the Techline Customer Support Center (TCSC) for assistance at 1-800-828-6860 or visit the Techline web site at techline.gm.com.
