Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. Remove the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
  3. Remove the filter. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid Filter and Seal Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 164809  Size: SH
  5. Remove the accumulator attaching bolts (131).
  6. Remove the manual 2-1 band servo cover bolts (103).

  7. Object Number: 164810  Size: SH
  8. Remove the accumulator (132).
  9. Remove the manual 2-1 band servo cover (104).

  10. Object Number: 164811  Size: SH
  11. Remove the manual 2-1 band servo (106-116).
  12. To disassemble, inspect and service the accumulator and 2-1 manual servo, refer to Transmission/Transaxle/Transfer Case Unit Repair Manual.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 164811  Size: SH
  1. Install the manual 2-1 band servo (106-116).
  2. Install the manual 2-1 band servo cover (104).
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 164809  Size: SH
  4. Install the manual 2-1 band servo cover bolts (103).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the manual 2-1 band servo cover bolts (103) to 24 N·m (17 lb ft).

  6. Install the accumulator (132).
  7. Install the accumulator attaching bolts (131).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the accumulator attaching bolts (131) to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

  9. If removed, install the new filter seal.
  10. Install the filter. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid Filter and Seal Replacement .
  11. Install the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
  12. Lower the vehicle.
  13. Important: It is recommended that transmission adaptive pressure (TAP) information be reset.

    Resetting the TAP values using a scan tool will erase all learned values in all cells. As a result, The ECM, PCM or TCM will need to relearn TAP values. Transmission performance may be affected as new TAP values are learned.

  14. Reset the TAP values. Refer to Adapt Function .
