The steering column joints are loose or worn.

1. Inspect the steering column joints for proper torque. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column-Tilt.
2. Replace components as necessary. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column-Tilt.

The power steering gear is loose.

Tighten the power steering gear mounting bolts to specifications. Refer to Steering Gear Replacement .

The tie rods are loose.

Replace the tie rods. Refer to Rack and Pinion Outer Tie Rod End Replacement or Steering Linkage Inner Tie Rod Replacement .

The wheel bearings are loose.

Replace the wheel bearings. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Shaft Bearing Replacement in Front Suspension.
