1. Turn ON the ignition, leaving the engine OFF.
2. Attempt to communicate with the radio and the CD Player (with WX9).

Does the scan tool communicate with the radio?

Does the scan tool communicate with the CD Player?

Go to Step 5

1. Turn the ignition switch on.
2. Disconnect the scan tool, if connected.
3. Test the E and C Data Line circuit for a short to ground or a short to voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Control Module References for the applicable Diagnostic System Check

Go to Step 5

Test the appropriate leg of the E and C Data Line circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Go to Step 6

Replace the module that will not communicate with the scan tool. Refer to Control Module References .
