Installation Procedure
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Important: Lubricate the new O-rings with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant
oil.
- Install the new O-rings onto the A/C compressor hose assembly. Refer
to
O-Ring Replacement
.
Install the new sealing washers onto the A/C compressor hose assembly.
- Install the A/C compressor
hose assembly and bolt at the rear of the A/C compressor.
Tighten
Tighten the A/C compressor hose bolt to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).
- Install the lower air deflector. Refer to
Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors
in Engine Cooling.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the A/C compressor
hose to the accumulator.
- Install the A/C compressor
hose nut (2) onto the accumulator.
Tighten
Tighten the A/C compressor hose nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
- Install the A/C compressor
hose to the condenser.
- Install the A/C compressor
hose nut (1).
Tighten
Tighten the A/C compressor hose nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
