Did you perform the Lighting System Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

  1. Turn the ignition to the ON position.
  2. Place the turn signal switch to the LH ON position.
  3. Place the turn signal switch to the RH ON position.

Do all of the turn signal lamps operate properly?

Go to Step 3

Go to Turn Signal Lamps and/or Indicators Inoperative

  1. Place the turn signal switch in the OFF position.
  2. Place the hazard lamp switch to the ON position.

Do all of the turn signal tamps flash on and off?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 4

Inspect the Hazard Fuse.

Is the fuse open?

Go to Step 10

Using a test lamp connected to a known good ground, backprobe the battery positive voltage circuit that feeds the turn signal switch at C201.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 9

Using a test lamp connected to a known good ground, backprobe the turn/hazard module supply voltage circuit of the hazard lamp/turn signal lamp flasher at C201.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 8

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the turn signal switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 12

Repair a high resistance or an open in the turn/hazard module supply voltage circuit of the hazard lamp/turn signal lamp flasher. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Go to Step 12

Repair a high resistance or an open in the battery positive voltage circuit of the turn signal switch. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair a short to ground in the battery positive circuit of the turn signal switch or the turn/hazard module supply voltage circuit of the hazard lamp/turn signal lamp flasher . Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the turn signal switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.
