Did you perform the Lighting System Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  2. Place the turn signal switch in the LH and RH ON position.

Are the cornering lamps operating properly?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Determine if one or both of the cornering lamps are inoperative.

Are the both cornering lamps inoperative?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 6

Do the rear turn signals operate properly?

Go to Step 5

Go to Turn Signal Lamps and/or Indicators Inoperative

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  2. Place the turn signal switch in the LH ON position.
  3. Probe the cornering lamp supply voltage circuit of the LH cornering lamp with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 12

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  2. Place the turn signal switch in the appropriate position to select the inoperative cornering lamp.
  3. Probe the cornering lamp supply voltage circuit of the inoperative cornering lamp with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 8

Test for an open or a high resistance in the cornering lamp supply voltage circuit of the inoperative cornering lamp. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 15

Connect a test lamp between the cornering lamp supply voltage circuit and the ground circuit of the inoperative cornering lamp.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 9

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the inoperative cornering lamp. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 15

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the turn signal switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair an open or a high resistance in the ground circuit of the inoperative cornering lamp. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair an open or a high resistance in the ground circuit of the cornering lamps. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the inoperative cornering lamp. Refer to Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb and/or Cornering, Sidemarker, Park, Turn Signal Bulb Replacement .

Replace the turn signal switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column -Tilt.

Did you complete the repair?

  1. Connect all connectors and components that were previously disconnected.
  2. Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
