Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the left instrument panel insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement
  2. Remove the steering column opening filler. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement

  3. Object Number: 326098  Size: SH
  4. Remove the screws from the bottom of the instrument panel (IP) accessory trim plate.
  5. Pull the IP accessory trim plate rearward in order to release the retaining clips.
  6. Rotate the IP accessory trim plate rearward and up in order to release the 2 tabs at the top edge.
  7. Disconnect the ash tray harness electrical connector from the IP harness.
  8. Remove the IP accessory trim plate from the instrument panel.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the ash tray harness electrical connector to the IP harness.

  2. Object Number: 326098  Size: SH
  3. Align the instrument panel (IP) accessory trim plate to the IP.
  4. Install the tabs into the IP retainers.
  5. Rotate the IP accessory trim plate forward and press clips into the retainers until fully seated.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the IP accessory trim plate screws.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the IP accessory trim plate screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  9. Install the steering column opening filler. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement
  10. Install the left IP insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement
