Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 164801 Size: SH
  1. Remove the transmission oil pan and the gasket. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
  2. Remove the transmission oil filter (100).
  3. Remove the lip ring seal (101) pressed into the case only if replacement is necessary.
  4. Inspect the oil pan and filter for the following foreign material:
    5. • Metal particles.
    • Clutch facing material.
    • Rubber particles.
    • Engine coolant.
  5. Determine the source of the contamination if foreign material is evident.
  6. Correct the source of the contamination.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 164802 Size: SH
  1. If removed, install a new seal (101).

    2. Object Number: 164801 Size: SH
  2. Install the new filter (100) if required.
  3. Install the gasket and the transmission oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
