Removal Procedure
- Remove the left instrument panel (I/P) insulator. Refer to
Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side
.
- Remove the steering column filler. Refer to
Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement
.
- Remove the screws from
the bottom of the I/P accessory trim plate.
- Pull the I/P accessory trim plate rearward in order to release
the retaining clips.
- Rotate the I/P accessory trim plate rearward and up in order to
release the 2 tabs at the top edge.
- Disconnect the ash tray harness electrical connector from the
I/P harness.
- Remove the I/P accessory trim plate.
Installation Procedure
- Connect the ash tray harness electrical connector to the I/P harness.
- Align the accessory trim
plate to the I/P.
- Install the tabs into the I/P openings.
- Rotate the I/P accessory trim plate forward and press the clips
into the retainers until fully seated.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the screws to the I/P accessory trim plate.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Install the steering column filler. Refer to
Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement
.
- Install the left I/P insulator. Refer to
Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side
.
