Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 803927  Size: SH
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the bolt and nut from the trailing arm (6) and the knuckle (8).
  3. Remove the nut and bolt from the trailing arm (6) and the trailing arm bracket.
  4. Remove the trailing arm (6) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the trailing arm (6) to the trailing arm bracket.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolt and nut to the trailing arm (6) and the trailing arm bracket.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 105 N·m (77 lb ft).

  5. Install the trailing arm (6) to the knuckle (8).
  6. Install the bolt and nut to the trailing arm (6) and the knuckle (8).
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 70 N·m + 65 degrees (52 lb ft + 65 degrees).

  8. Lower the vehicle.
