J 36660-A Torque Angle Meter

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the left or the right valve rocker arm covers. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement - Left Side or Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement - Right Side.

  2. Object Number: 54392  Size: SH
  3. Remove the rocker arm bolts.
  4. Important: Place the valve train parts in a rack in order to ensure that they are installed in the same location from which they were removed.

    Important: Use care when removing the pushrods. Ensure that they do not fall down into the lifter valley.

  5. Remove the rocker arms.
  6. Remove the pushrods.

Installation Procedure

  1. Coat the ends of the pushrods with prelube GM P/N 12345501 or GM P/N 88862586 (Canadian P/N 992704 or Canadian P/N 88862586) or the equivalent.

  2. Object Number: 54392  Size: SH

    Important: The intake pushrods measure 144 mm (5.68 in) long.

    The exhaust pushrods measure 152.5 mm (6.0 in) long.

  3. Install the pushrods and the rocker arms to their original location.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the valve rocker arm bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Using the J 36660-A tighten the bolts to 19 N·m (14 lb ft) plus an additional 30 degrees.

  7. Install the left or the right valve rocker arm covers. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement - Left Side or Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement - Right Side.
