Body Control Module (BCM)

Description

Chime Fast

Chime Test

The BCM activates the fast chime when you select On. The chime continues to sound until you select Off.

Chime Medium

Chime Test

The BCM activates the medium chime when you select On. The chime continues to sound until you select Off.

Chime Slow

Chime Test

The BCM activates the slow chime when you select On. The chime continues to sound until you select Off.

Description

Coolant Gauge Sweep

Output Control

The IPC drives the coolant gage at or above H when you select Up. The IPC drives the coolant gage at or below C when you select Down.

Display(s) Test

Output Control

The IPC illuminates the indicators (excluding the turn signals, high beam, and MIL) when you select On. The indicators illuminate until commanded Off.

Fuel Gauge Sweep

Output Control

The IPC drives the fuel gage at or above full when you select Up. The IPC drives the fuel gage at or below empty when you select Down.

Speedometer Gauge Sweep

Output Control

The IPC drives the speedometer at or above 140 MPH (225 km/h) when you select Up. The IPC drives the speedometer at or below 0 MPH (0 km/h) when you select Down.

Tachometer Gauge Sweep

Output Control

The IPC drives the tachometer at or above 8000 RPM when you select Up. The IPC drives the tachometer at or below 0 RPM when you select Down.

Powertrain Control Module (PCM)

Description

Malfunction Indicator Lamp

Engine Output Controls (3.1L)

The PCM commands the IPC to turn this lamp on and off.

MIL

Dash Lamps (3.8L)

The PCM commands the IPC to turn this lamp on and off.

Oil Life Reset

Engine Output Controls

The scan tool commands the desired percentage (0-100%) input as requested by the scan tool user.
