Removal Procedure
- Remove the front door water deflector. Refer to
Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement
.
- Disconnect the front door inside handle rods.
- Disconnect the front door inside handle rods from the front door inside rod block.
- Disconnect the front door outside handle rods.
- Remove the front door lock screws (1, 2, 3).
- Remove the front door lock from inside the front door.
- Disconnect the front door lock electrical connectors.
- Remove the front door inside handle rods from the front door lock.
Installation Procedure
- Install the front door inside handle rods to the front door lock.
- Connect the front door lock electrical connectors.
- Position the front door lock into the front door.
- Apply Locktite® Blue GM P/N 12345382, or Canadian P/N 10953489, or equivalent prior to installing the front door lock screws.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the front door lock screws in the correct fastener tightening sequence (top, bottom, middle, 1, 2, 3).
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Connect the front door outside handle rods.
- Connect the front door inside handle rods.
- Connect the front door inside handle rods to the front door inside rod block.
- Install the front door water deflector. Refer to
Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement
.
