Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the fuel lines. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  2. Disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector.

  3. Object Number: 201482  Size: SH
  4. Remove the 2 TP sensor screws.

  5. Object Number: 201473  Size: SH
  6. Remove the TP sensor and the O-ring.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 201503  Size: SH
  1. Install the TP sensor O-ring to the TP sensor.

  2. Object Number: 201473  Size: SH
  3. Install the TP sensor.
  4. Apply a thread-locking compound to the TP sensor screws. Loctite® 262, GM P/N 12345493, (Canadian P/N 10953488) or equivalent should be used.

  5. Object Number: 201482  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the 2 TP sensor screws.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  8. Connect the TP sensor electrical connector.
  9. Connect the fuel lines. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
