The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.

Condition/Concern:

How to determine if the vehicle is equipped with RAP.

Recommendation/Instructions:

The following information should clarify what equipment must be required for a Buick Century to have Retained Accessory Power (RAP):

2005: Must have (UK3) 1SC or 1SD

2004: Must have (UK3) 1SC or 1SD

2003: Must have (UK3 which is included in) 1SC or 1SD

2002: Must have 1SB on Custom level; Standard on the Limited model

2001: Must have 1SB on Custom level; Standard on the Limited model

Note: RPO UK3 - Steering Wheel Radio Controls (SWRC) may not always be found in option list, however, the option package (i.e. 1SB, 1SC, etc) usually is. RAP is normally defined as supplying power to certain electrical components for 10 minutes unless the front doors are opened and is briefly explained in owner's manual.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
