Go to Restricted Exhaust System Check in Engine Controls-2.5 L (LB8) and 3.0 L (L46)

Remove the exhaust muffler with exhaust pipe and tail pipe.

Visually inspect the exhaust muffler.

Is the exhaust muffler faulty?

Replace the exhaust muffler with exhaust pipe and tail pipe. Refer to Muffler Replacement .

Does the vehicle still have a loss of power and/or internal rattles?

System OK

Inspect the exhaust resonator pipe.

Is the exhaust resonator pipe faulty?

Go to Step 5

System OK

Replace the exhaust resonator pipe. Refer to Resonator Replacement .
