Removal Procedure
  1. Place the drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch any fluid that may drain.

    2. Object Number: 454268 Size: SH
  2. Remove the clamp holding the power steering return hose to the power steering pump.
  3. Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering pump.
  4. Remove the clamp holding the power steering return hose to the power steering return line.
  5. Remove the rubber section of the power steering return line assembly.
  6. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

    7. Object Number: 284303 Size: SH
  7. Loosen the clamps on the following components:
    8. • The power steering return hose
    • The power steering cooler pipe
  8. Remove the rubber section of the power steering return hose from the power steering return line and the power steering cooler pipe.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 284303 Size: SH
  1. Install the rubber section of the power steering return hose to the power steering return line and the power steering cooler pipe
  2. Tighten the clamps on the following components:
    3. • The power steering return hose
    • The power steering cooler pipe
  3. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
  4. Lower the vehicle.

    5. Object Number: 454268 Size: SH
  5. Install the rubber section of the power steering return line assembly to the power steering return line and the power steering pump.
  6. Tighten the clamps on power steering return hose.
  7. Fill the system. Refer to Refilling the Power Steering System .
  8. Bleed the system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
  9. Inspect the system for leaks. Refer to Power Steering Gear and Pump Leaks .
