Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the instrument panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

  2. Object Number: 176880  Size: SH
  3. Remove the screws and the defrost air distribution duct.

  4. Object Number: 176887  Size: SH
  5. Remove the screws and the center air duct.

  6. Object Number: 283722  Size: SH
  7. Remove the screws and the side air ducts.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 176880  Size: SH
  1. Install the defroster air distribution duct.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the air distribution duct mounting screws.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the air distribution duct screws to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

  5. Install the center air distribution duct.
  6. Install the air distribution duct mounting screws.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the air distribution duct screws to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

  8. Install the side air distribution ducts.
  9. Install the air distribution duct mounting screws.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the air distribution duct screws to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

  11. Install the instrument panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement in Instrument Panel Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
