Inspect the system.

Are there any instrument cluster DTCs stored in memory?

Go to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List/Type

Go to Step 3

1. Install a scan tool.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
3. Command the SECURITY indicator to turn on.

Does the SECURITY indicator come on when commanded?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
2. Command the SECURITY indicator to turn off.

Does the SECURITY indicator turn off when commanded?

Go to Vehicle Theft Deterrent (VTD) System Check in Theft Deterrent

Go to Step 5

1. Replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
2. Inspect the system.

Is the repair complete?
