J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

1. Remove the grille.Refer to Front Bumper Lower Fascia Grille Replacement .
2. Remove the front fender liners. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement in Body Front End.
3. Remove the front bumper fascia air deflectors. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors in Engine Cooling.



4. Remove the bolts from the front bumper fascia at the fender.
5. Remove the bolts from the upper front bumper fascia support.
6. Use the J 38778 in order to remove the push-pin retainers from the upper front bumper fascia support.
7. Use the J 38778 in order to remove the push-pin retainers from the lower front bumper fascia support to the front bumper fascia.
8. Use the J 38778 in order to remove the push-pin retainers from the lower bumper impact bar.
9. Remove the front bumper fascia from the vehicle.

1. Position the front bumper fascia to the vehicle.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

2. Install the front bumper fascia bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the front bumper fascia bolts to 10 N·m (88 lb in).

3. Install the push-pin retainers to the upper front bumper fascia support.
4. Install the upper front bumper fascia support bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the upper front bumper fascia support bolts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

5. Install the front bumper fascia air deflectors. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors in Engine Cooling.
6. Install the push-in retainers to the lower front bumper impact bar.
7. Install the push-in retainers to the lower front bumper fascia support at the front bumper fascia.
8. Install the front fender liners. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement in Body Front End.
9. Install the grille. Refer to Front Bumper Lower Fascia Grille Replacement
