Removal Procedure
- Remove the front seat from the vehicle. Refer to
Front Seat Replacement - Bucket
for bucket seats or
Split Bench Seat Replacement
for bench seats.
- Pull back the front seat back cover. Refer to
Front Seat Back Cushion Cover Replacement
.
- Pull back the front seat cushion cover in order to expose the
front seat recliner assembly. Refer to
Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement
.
- Remove the two recliner to the seat cushion frame roll pins. Discard
the roll pins.
- Remove the recliner to
the seat back frame pivot bolts.
- Remove the recliner from the seat cushion frame.
Installation Procedure
- Position the recliner
to the seat cushion frame.
- Install but do no tighten the recliner to the seat back frame
pivot bolts.
- Install the two recliner to the seat cushion frame roll pins.
Use new roll pins.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Tighten the pivot
bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the seat back frame pivot bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Pull back the front seat back cover. Refer to
Front Seat Back Cushion Cover Replacement
.
- Pull back the front seat cushion cover in order to cover the front
seat recliner assembly. Refer to
Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement
.
- Install the front seat to the vehicle. Refer to
Front Seat Replacement - Bucket
for bucket seats or
Split Bench Seat Replacement
for bench seats.
