Adjustment Procedure
- Open the rear compartment lid.
- Loosen the bolts and nuts on the rear compartment hinge. Keep the bolts and nuts tight enough to maintain adjusted position of the lid.
- Align the rear compartment lid.
Up/Down Adjustment at the Rear Corners
- Tighten or loosen the rubber bumpers to lower or raise the lid as needed.
- Use the height adjustment bumper at the front of the hinge to adjust the rear compartment lid to the correct height. Use an Allen wrench to adjust the rear compartment lid, as required.
- Tighten the rear compartment lid hinge nuts.
- Tighten the rear compartment hinge to rear quarter bolts.
- Close the rear compartment lid.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the rear compartment hinge to rear quarter bolts to 27 N·m
(20 lb ft).
