The interior lighting system includes convenience lamps such as the compartment lamp, rear cigar lighter lamp, console PRNDL lamp, ignition switch lamp, instrument cluster lamps, instrument panel compartment lamp, dome lamp, side rail lamp, headlamp high-beam indicator lamp, and the turn signal indicator lamp. All associated wiring, controls and related hardware for these lamps are included. The ashtray lamp will come on when the inside lamps are illuminated.
Two courtesy lamps under the instrument panel will come on when a door is opened, or when the interior lamps are turned on. To turn the interior lamps on, twist the interior lights knob all the way to the right. The brightness of the courtesy lamps can be reduced by partially twisting the interior lights knob to the left, as desired.
The dome lamp is mounted to the headliner between the front seats. The dome lamp will come on when a door is opened, or when the inside lamps are turned on. To turn on the inside lamps, rotate the thumb wheel next to the lamp switch all the way to the top. To turn them off, rotate the thumb wheel down just past the last detent.
The courtesy lamps will come on and stay on for a set time whenever you press the unlock button on the remote keyless entry transmitter. If you open a door, the lamps will stay on while the door is open and then turn off automatically about 25 seconds after you close the door. If you press the unlock button on the remote keyless entry transmitter and don't open a door, the lamps will turn off in 40 seconds.
The compartment lamp will come on when the compartment door is open.
The rear cigar lighter lamp is located in the rear door trim panel. The rear cigar lighter lamp will come on when the inside lamps are illuminated.
The rear compartment lamp will come on when the rear compartment lid is opened, whether or not the headlamps or parking lamps are on.
The side rail lamps are integrated into the assist handles located on the headliner. They will come on when a door is opened, or when the inside lamps are turned on. There is also a switch on the side rail lamp to turn the side rail lamp on or off.
