  1. Using a test light, backprobe between the driver/passenger seat adjuster motor assembly connector C1 terminal A and ground.
  2. Press and hold the driver seat adjuster switch to the FORWARD position.

Does the test light illuminate?

  1. Using a test light, backprobe between the driver/passenger seat adjuster motor assembly connector C1 terminal B and ground.
  2. Press and hold the driver/passenger seat adjuster switch to the BACK position.

Does the test light illuminate?

Inspect for a poor connection or an open in circuit 285, between the driver/passenger seat adjuster switch terminal H and the driver seat adjuster motor assembly connector C1 terminal A.

Is there a poor connection or an open in circuit 285?

Repair the poor connection or an open in circuit 285.

Has the repair been made and the system rechecked?

Go to Step 5

Replace the driver seat adjuster switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .

  1. Using a test light, backprobe between the driver/passenger seat adjuster motor assembly connector C1 terminals A and B.
  2. Press and hold the driver/passenger seat adjuster switch in the FORWARD position and then to the BACK position.

Does the test light illuminate with the switch in both directions?

Check for a poor connection or an open in circuit 284 between the driver/passenger seat adjuster switch terminal G and the driver/passenger seat adjuster motor assembly connector C1 terminal B.

Repair the poor connection or an open in circuit 284.

Has the repair been made and the system rechecked?

Check for a poor connection in the driver/passenger seat adjuster motor assembly connector C1 terminals A and B.
