scan tool and check for Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) in the Body Control
Module (BCM).
Is DTC B3268 set?

- Disconnect the rear compartment lid latch release actuator connector.
- Manual close the trunk lid
Will the trunk lid latch?

- Disconnect the rear compartment lid release relay.
- With a test light, backprobe between the relay terminal A2
and ground.
Does the test light illuminate?

- Check the mechanical operation of the rear compartment.
- Look for bindings, lid gap adjustments and latch operation, etc.
- If lid mechanical condition is OK, replace rear compartment lid
lock release actuator. Refer to

for service procedure.
