HIGHER THAN NORMAL HYDROCARBONS

SUBJECT: HIGHER THAN NORMAL HYDROCARBONS DURING THE INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE TEST AND/OR SLIGHT DETONATION NOISE (INSTALL NEW E-PROM)

MODELS: 1992-93 BUICK ROADMASTER 1992-93 CHEVROLET CAPRICE 1992 OLDSMOBILE CUSTOM CRUISER WITH 5.7L ENGINE (VIN 7 - RPO L05) AND 4L60 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

CONDITION:

SOME OWNERS OF POLICE AND NON-POLICE VEHICLES MAY EXPERIENCE HIGHER THAN NORMAL HYDROCARBON EMISSIONS DURING THE IDLE PORTION OF THE INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE TEST. ALSO, SOME POLICE VEHICLES MAY EXHIBIT A SLIGHT DETONATION DURING A LIGHT THROTTLE ACCELERATION.

CORRECTION:

IF ALL ENGINE MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS ARE WORKING PROPERLY, INSTALL THE PROPER E-PROM LISTED FROM THE TABLE BELOW.
