AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK FEATURE (BUICK ONLY)
THE BUICK KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM IS EQUIPPED WITH AN AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK FEATURE. WITH THE IGNITION "ON", SHIFTING OUT OF "PARK" CAUSES THE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY TO LOCK ALL DOORS. SHIFTING INTO "PARK" CAUSES THE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY TO UNLOCK ALL DOORS.
ON-VEHICLE SERVICE
PROGRAMMING THE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY
FIGURES 1 AND 2
1. REPOSITION REAR COMPARTMENT TRIM ASSEMBLY TO ACCESS PROGRAM CONNECTOR, FOR SEDAN (FIGURE 1).
2. REMOVE RIGHT BACK BODY PILLAR FINISH PANEL TO ACCESS PROGRAM CONNECTOR, FOR WAGON (FIGURE 2). REFER TO THE SERVICE MANUAL SECTION 10-7.
3. GROUND PROGRAM CONNECTOR BY CONNECTING THE TWO TERMINALS TOGETHER.
. DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS AND REAR COMPARTMENT LID OR END GATE WINDOW ACTUATORS WILL CYCLE INDICATING RECEIVER IS IN PROGRAM MODE.
4. PRESS ANY BUTTON ONLY ONCE ON FIRST TRANSMITTER, THE RECEIVER WILL RESPOND BY CYCLING ACTUATORS AS MENTIONED ABOVE. THE RECEIVER IS NOW PROGRAMMED FOR THAT TRANSMITTER WITH THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK/ UNLOCK FEATURE ENABLED.
TO DISABLE THE AUTOMATIC DOOR UNLOCK FEATURE FOR THAT TRANSMITTER, REPEAT THE FOLLOWING BUTTON SEQUENCE THREE TIMES (EACH BUTTON MUST BE PRESSED WITHIN ONE SECOND OF EACH OTHER):
A. DOOR LOCK B. DOOR UNLOCK C. REAR COMPARTMENT LID RELEASE
5. REPEAT STEP 4 TO PROGRAM THE SECOND TRANSMITTER (DO NOT DISCONNECT PROGRAM CONNECTOR UNTIL BOTH TRANSMITTERS HAVE BEEN PROGRAMMED).
6. DISCONNECT THE PROGRAM CONNECTOR.
7. VERIFY PROPER OPERATION OF EACH TRANSMITTER.
8. REPOSITION REAR COMPARTMENT TRIM, FOR SEDAN.
9. INSTALL RIGHT BACK BODY PILLAR FINISH PANEL, FOR WAGON. REFER TO SERVICE MANUAL SECTION 10-7.
