CHECK CHAIN FOR POSSIBLE WEAR ALL THM 125/125-C TRANSAXLES

Models Affected: All THM 125/125-C Transaxles

When disassembling any THM 125/125-C, transaxle, it is important to inspect the drive link assembly (chain) for possible wear. Refer to the following service procedure.

Service Procedure:

1. Midway between the sprockets and at right angles to the chain, push the slack (bottom) strand of the chain down until finger tight and mark with crayon on the case outside of teeth. See Illustration.

2. Push up in the same manner and put a second mark, making sure that both marks are made from the same point on the chain.

Note: If the distance between the marks exceed (1 1/16) inches or 27.4) mm, the chain must be replaced.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
