1. WARRANTY AND OWNER ASSISTANCE ON 1985 BUICK NEW CARS (6) -------------------------------------------------------- For 1985 there are six (6) booklets containing warranty information relative to the new car emissim system, tire and corrosion:

Owner assistance satisfaction procedures, the GM mediation/arbitration program, special policy adjustment programs, and the GM Continuous Protection Plan are all outlined in this booklet. A separate tire warranty folder is included to outline warranty as provided by individual tire manufacturers.

The owner's name, address, Vehicle Identification Number, date of delivery and mileage at the time of delivery, are all to be typed on the front cover (inside front cover for Electra/Park Avenue) of the Warranty and Owner Assistance Information booklet in the space provided. There is a space provided on the back of the folder for the dealer name, address and dealer code.

It is very important that the Owner and Vehicle Information on the booklet be correct. This information will be the only means of owner identification for repairs covered under warranty. In order for dealer warranty claims to be properly processed, the Vehicle Identification Number must be correct. Owners should be instructed to carry their Warranty and Owner Assistnace Information Booklets in their vehicles at all times.

2. 1985 SERVICE MANUALS --------------------- The 1985 Chassis Service Manual was shipped to all Buick dealers an August 3, 1984. Again for 1985 it is a loose-leaf publication in two volumes, covering all models including Electra/Park Avenue. The previously furnished Electra and Park Avenue Chassis Service Manual will not be updated.

Post type binders (same as 1984) were included with each manual. 1985 Fisher Body Manuals (except "C" Series) will be shipped in August. "C" Series manuals were previously shipped. Additional manuals and/or binders can be ordered on the "Service Publications for Buick Dealers" order form which was included with the 1985 Chassis Service Manual shipment.

3. 1985 Owner's Manuals -------------------- For 1985 there are a total of nine (9) owner's manuals.

For Electra/Park Avenue a suede finish wallet, part nurrber 25518866, is used for containing the owner manual, warranty and cwner assistance booklet and maintenance schedule booklets.

4. 1985 VEHICLE CERTIFICATION AND TIRE PRESSURE LABEL -------------------------------------------------- In accordance with Federal Motor Vehicle Regulations, A Vehicle Certification and Tire Pressure Label is being affixed to all 1985 model Buicks.

The label will have a certification statement, Vehicle Identification Number, month and year that the vehicle was built. The label will be attached horiontally to the left front door inner panel lock facing on all models.

The lower portion of the label will have the tire size and tire pressure information.

Due to the certification label's locations, it may be subject to damage during car shipment and new vehicle pre-delivery service or may be required due to door repair or replacement.

To acquire a replacement certification label, proceed as follows:

A. Obtain an impression of the Vehicle Identification number on the engine block by rubbing a pencil lightly over a piece of paper held in place against the block.

B. Obtain build date, if at all possible, from damaged certification label.

C. Check Vehicle Identification Number on engine block and identification number on instrument panel to see that they match.

D. Obtain the vehicle order number from invoice.

E. Send the readable impression and build date frm Steps A and B above and the vehicle order number taken from the invoice, along with a explanation to: Buick Motor Division Attn: Mgr. - Technical Service Flint, MI 48550

5. 1985 NEW VEHICLE INSPECTION PROCEDURE FORM ------------------------------------------- The New Vehicle Inspection and Delivery Procedure which was introduced in 1983, includes a new NVI for 1985. Use New Vehicle Inspection Procedure Sheet 101072. This form is shipped with each Buick delivered to you. Additional forms may be obtained through your Zone Office.

6. 1985 MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE ------------------------- For 1985 there are four (4) vehicle maintenance publications:

7. 1985 LABOR TIME GUIDE - MICROPUBLICATIONS UPDATE AND REQUEST FOR REVIEW FORMS

Approximately September 28, 1984, one (1) set of micropublications will be mailed to all dealers, each set will consist of the following material:

Dealer Information Bulletin Update - October 1983 - August 1984 (3)

Additional quanities, if previously ordered, will be supplied, based upon records on file at time of mailing. All requests for additional microfiche sets are to be processed directly thru GM Photographic. Additional order forms are available from your Zone Office.

Labor Time Guide - All claims processed on the date of receipt or after will be processed on the basis of operations and labor time allowances provided.

Printed Labor Time Guide

The 1985 labor time guide is available in printed format. This loose leaf publication can be ordered on the "Service Publications for Buick Dealers" order form. Binders are now also available.

8. 1985 Buick Bulletin Binders --------------------------- Orders for binders and index tabs should be sent directly to Buick Motor Division in care of Office Service Department, as shown on the order form included with this bulletin.

It will not be necessary to include a check for your order, as all orders will be charged against your Open Parts Account.

9. 1985 Paint Codes ---------------- Color chips sheets for the 1985 Buick Paints will again be available from DuPont, Ditzler, Inmont (Rinshed Mason), Sherwin Williams, Acme/Rogers and Martin-Senour. Each Buick Dealer will be sent two (2) copies of each as they become available to us. Those not included with this bulletin will be sent out as they become available.

The following chart indicates 1985 exterior paint supplier stock numbers, the Fisher WA numbers and vehicles the paint is used on. Please note the Service Parts Label (see Bulletin 84-0-2 for location) includes paint information.
