FRENCH LABEL INSTALLATION (PASS. & LIGHT DUTY TRUCKS)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1985 Passenger Cars And Light Duty Trucks

General Information

Labels are pressure sensitive; therefore, surfaces must be clean, dry, warm, and free of contaminants, before labels are affixed. Labels must be pressed firmly over their entire surface.

Locate labels next to English labels, unless otherwise noted. Both labels should be readable.

Engine Compartment

1. Dual Battery Labels

Follow same instructions for extra battery (diesel engine) as for single battery (gasoline engine) as outlined in the general instruction in the product service bulletin.

2. Vehicle Fluids Identification Label (Cadillac 'C' Car Only)

- Place label 52353412 beside the English label located on top of the front tie bar.

3. Oil Filler Cap Label

- Place label 523526712 over one of the original labels on the oil filler cap.

4. Diesel Fuel Filter Labels

- Place label 745944A over English label on the secondary fuel filter.

- Place label 745944B over English label on the primary fuel oil filter.

5. Maximum Voltage Caution

- Place label 52354639 adjacent to English label.

6. Glow Plug Relay Label

- Place label 744665 on Relay Box (LH fender skirt), or on fender skirt near relay bow in close proximity to the English label.

7. Starting Fluid Caution Label

- Place label 52351285 on top portion of air cleaner near mouth of snorkel.

8. Diesel Glow Plug Control Switch Assembly Label

- Wrap label 52350770 around glow plug control switch immediately below the English label.

9. Diesel Engine Oil Notice Label (CK Truck)

- Place label 52351233 over English label on oil fill tube.

10. Diesel Fuel Filter Notice Label

- Place label 52351856 adjacent to English label on the fuel oil filter fuel oil filter bracket.

Passenger Compartment

1. Engine Start Procedure Labels

- Fold LH sunvisor to down position. Remove English diesel start procedure labels. Place label 52353290 or 52353710 (all passenger except 'T' cars), 52351523 ('T' car), or 746686 ('A' & 'T' cars), in the same location as the 'Unleaded Fuel Only' label for gasoline powered passenger cars.

Exterior

1. Dirsel Fuel Only Label (Passenger Car Only)

- Place label 74J894 (all passenger cars except 'A' & 'T'), or 746686 ('A' & 'T' cars), in the same location as the 'Unleaded Fuel Only' label for gasoline powered passenger cars.
