TIMING CHAIN DAMPNER REQUIREMENT INFORMATION

MODELS AFFECTED: V6 ENGINES

The stationary timing chain dampner which was discontinued in production in 1981, is no longer required on any engine with A, 3, 4 or 8 VIN codes. The dampner is, however, still required on engines with VIN Code C (1977 and prior years).
