GM GOODWRENCH 350 DIESEL ENGINE P/N'S
A GM Goodwrench 350 diesel engine is now available through WDDGM for certain current and past model vehicles equipped with a 5.7 liter V8 diesel engine. All GM Goodwrench 350 diesel engines are manufactured with new components. They all contain roller lifter valve trains and incorporate all parts, except as noted below:

NOTICE: 1981 model Canadian and export passenger cars and 1981 model light duty trucks built with pencil type nozzles and internal EGR cylinder heads cannot utilize a GM Goodwrench 350 diesel engine. It will be necessary to utilize a partial engine or fitted block currently available from WDDGM.
Description
1. Engine 22520957 (Code MG1) contains cylinder heads machined for PENCIL type nozzles. There are no provisions for EGR.
2. Engine 22523103 (Code MG2) contains cylinder heads machined for POPPET type nozzles. These cylinder heads are manufactured to match intake manifolds with EXTERNAL EGR.
3. Engine 22522089 (Code MG3) contains cylinder heads machined for POPPET type nozzles. These cylinder heads are manufactured to match intake manifolds with INTERNAL EGR.
What's Included
Cylinder block assembly, connecting rod and piston assemblies, crankshaft, crankshaft balancer, camshaft, cylinder head assemblies including valve trains, camshaft and crankshaft sprockets with chain, timing gears and timing cover, oil pump and screen, oil pan and installation instruction sheet.

GM Goodwrench Diesels can be ordered to meet your needs and those of your customers.
If a customer's car is down and a replacement unit is needed, get fast delivery by ordering through the RAPID system, V.I.P. or C.I.O. classifications, or by calling direct to your local Parts Distribution Center.
Stock orders can be placed using either Supplemental or Regular stock order classifications. For either stock or V.I.P./C.I.O. classifications, normal pricing policies will apply. Should you want to serve as a supplementary source of supply in your area, or if you want to take advantage of significant discounts and allowances, order using a green "Direct Ship" order form. We've reproduced an example below. You can save a minimum of $84 per unit, plus 8% parts return reserve and 3% advertising assistance allowance, by ordering the truckload quantity.

NOTE: Second design nozzle spacers and clamps will be required unless a cylinder head has previously been replaced. The second design clamp uses a 3/8" bolt, the first design was 5/16". Remove one bolt from each cylinder head to determine which style is installed on the engine. Order separately as required.
Service Parts
The GM Goodwrench 350 diesel engine uses current model parts, except as listed on the following chart. When servicing a vehicle with 5.7 liter diesel engine, it will be necessary to determine if a GM Goodwrench 350 diesel engine has been installed. Each GM Goodwrench 350 diesel engine will have a distinctive label on each valve cover for easy identification. In addition, you will be supplied an additional label to attach to the front of the air cleaner. These visual aids will allow you to readily identify this engine and order the proper parts for service.

All other parts contained in the GM-Goodwrench 350 diesel engine are 1983 model parts and should be ordered from the current 1983 Parts Catalog.
Warranty Information
Any warranty claims submitted to Buick for the installation of a GM Goodwrench 350 diesel engine will require zone authorization, and are to be submitted using the following labor operation number. List the applicable engine part number in the "Failed Part Number" column.

With cruise control .1 hr. With A/c .5 hr. Replace govenor weight retainer ring (if required) .7 hr.
Includes: R&R hood, belts, fan and flywheel cover. D&C exhaust pipes, fuel and vacuum lines, linkage, starter and hoses. Drain and refill engine oil (if required) and coolant. Transfer oil pan and pump on Riviera. Check injection pump governor weight retainer ring. Make all necessary adjustments including timing. Also includes time to transfer all required parts.
