When referring to this chart please pay special attention to those clusters where only the speedometer portion is exchangeable. The remaining portions of the cluster, such as the fuel gauge, temp gauge, etc., are replaceable through the normal parts and warranty channels.
Also note that the exchange unit part numbers differ in some cases from those listed in the Parts Manual. This occurs on those clusters where the production assembly may contain components not transferred with the exchange unit, such as odometer wheels or chips.
This bulletin and the previously issued 1984 bulletins on this subject (0-109, 8-121, 8-131, and 8-132) should be reviewed by all Parts and Service personnel on a regular basis to ensure that this program is totally understood and utilized properly.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
