MOAN NOISE AT IDLE, A/C ON POWER STEERING PUMP DRIVE BELT

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1986 C Cars

Some early production 1986 Electras and Park Avenues may have a moan-type noise, noticeable at curb idle in 'drive' with the A/C compressor operating. To reduce or minimize this condition, a new power steering pump drive belt tensioner brace ('Y'-shaped brace replaced the 'L'-shaped brace) was added in production. Refer to illustration. If an owner should comment of this condition, obtain the new brace number 25529079 and one bolt number 14081734 from GM Parts Department and install as shown in illustration.
