If replacement of a sunroof sliding and vent cable should be needed, a new service cable is available (Part Numbers 16602930, right hand; and 16602931, left hand). When these cables are used, the rear carrier bumper stops must be moved rearward 6mm (attached illustration) so the vertical adjustment screws can be accessed. When only one cable is being replaced, carefully inspect the other cable for worn or cracked areas. Bumper carrier stops are reworked with sunroof housing out of vehicle and cable conduits and track removed.
1. Remove carrier bumper stops (see illustration).
2. Locate and mark new mounting holes 6mm rearward of original holes on track assembly.
3. Drill a 4.3mm hole at mark and thread with a 5m x .8 tap.
4. Install carrier bumper stops.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
