COMPOSITE HEADLAMP CONDENSATION

VEHICLES AFFECTED: ALL 1987 AND 1988 MODELS EQUIPPED ----------------- WITH COMPOSITE HEADLAMPS

A condition may exist where condensation forms on the inside of the composite headlamp lens.

This condition is considered normal on a cool lens; however, after the headlamps have been on, this moisture should evaporate. The length of time for moisture evaporation may vary due to the heat generated by the headlamps and air flow through the headlamp assembly from vehicle movement.

If a condition occurs where condensation remains, the vent tubes should be inspected for kinks or obstructions. It is essential that the vent tubes are in place and routed correctly (without kinks) for effective ventilation. Refer to illustration.

Under no circumstances should high pressure air be used to clear the lense as this could result in breakage of the lamp assembly and personal injury could be sustained.
