ADMINISTRATIVE MESSAGE

2007-2008 Saturn Outlook, GMC Acadia and 2008 Buick Enclave Automatic HVAC Control Head (RPO CJ2) Various Functions are Inoperative or Not Working Properly When Selected From the HVAC Control Head

HVAC control heads have been replaced for a variety of conditions reported by customers and upon being returned to the Warranty Parts Center and thoroughly tested; they were found to be fully functional. Based on the description of the concerns being experienced by the customer, it is likely that the concern may be related to one of the connectors at the back of the controller. When diagnosing a vehicle for a HVAC concern, check the grey connector (J3 connection as marked on the back of the control head) for proper installation. If normal function of the controller returns after removal and fully seating connector J3, do not replace the control head. Continue diagnosis only after first insuring that this connector is properly seated into the control head.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
