RPO UZR Or U3U Navigation DVD Media Installation - keywords disc eject installation nav radio slot

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Some Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, Saturn Outlook and Saturn VUE vehicles may be equipped with the optional Navigation Radio RPO UZR (U3U on the 2008-2009 VUE). There have been questions and concerns that the Navigation DVD is inoperative. Further questioning and/or inspection revealed that the Navigation DVD was being installed in the CD media slot. This new radio has one media slot CD/MP3 discs and a second media slot for Navigation DVD. The CD media slot resides ABOVE the Navigation display and the Navigation DVD media slot resides BEHIND the Navigation display.

It is recommended that during the PDI process that the Navigation DVD is installed prior to delivery. This disc is inserted behind the Navigation display. Press and hold the eject button next to the CD media slot for approximately 15 seconds with the unit turned on. The radio will then eject/tilt the Navigation display. Behind the Navigation display resides a media slot specifically for the Navigation DVD. Install the DVD. To close the display, it will require two hands (one on each side of the display) and push the display in evenly toward the Navigation radio until it is secured.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
