The body control module (BCM) monitors the state of charge (SOC) and current draw of the battery, in order to determine if there is a high parasitic load.
All of the following conditions are present:
• | The battery current was less than -2 A for 15 seconds while the ignition was OFF, no key fob buttons were pressed, and no doors were open. |
• | The ignition is turned from OFF to ON. |
When the ignition is turned ON, the SOC is 30 percent less than it was when the engine was last running.
No indicators or DIC messages are displayed. This DTC is for information only.
• | The DTC will pass when the SOC is 80 percent for 15 seconds. |
• | A history DTC will clear if the fault does not return for 50 consecutive ignition cycles. |
