Assembly Procedure

    Object Number: 324831 Size: SH
  1. Install the wave washer (1).

    2. Object Number: 306687 Size: SH
  2. Align the block tooth on the race and upper shaft assembly (1) to the 12 o'clock position.
  3. Put the lock cylinder in the LOCK position and remove the key.

    4. Object Number: 293255 Size: SH
  4. A new SRS coil assembly will be precentered. Do not remove the centering tab until installation is complete.
  5. If reusing the original SRS coil assembly refer to Inflatable Restraint Coil Centering - Off Vehicle (Column Shift and Floor Shift) .

    6. Object Number: 360591 Size: SH
  6. Align the SRS coil assembly (2) with the horn tower sticking through the shaft lock shield assembly (1).

    7. Object Number: 360597 Size: SH

    Important: The snap ring (1) must seat securely on the groove of the race and upper shaft assembly (2).

  7. Install the snap ring (1).

    8. Object Number: 360577 Size: SH
  8. Pop the wire harness assembly (4) into the wire harness strap (5).
  9. Install the wire harness strap (2) into the steering column tilt head assembly (1).
  10. Install the wire harness straps (3) onto the wire harness assembly (4).
  11. Install the upper and lower shrouds. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
