Blower Motor High Speed Inoperative Front

Verify that the front blower motor high speed is inoperative.

Does the front blower motor operate normally?

--

  1. Disconnect the blower motor resistor.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the blower motor resistor connector terminal G and ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Is the test lamp on?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  2. Turn the heater-A/C control to the high position.
  3. Connect a test lamp between the blower motor resistor terminal F and ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Is the test lamp on?

Go to Step 6

Check for a short to ground in circuit 40. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Is a short to ground present?

Go to Step 10

Replace the blower motor resistor. Refer to Blower Motor Resistor Replacement .

Connect the test lamp between the heater-A/C control connector C1 terminal C and ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Is the test lamp on?

Go to Step 8

Repair the poor connection or open in circuit 52. Refer to Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the heater-A/C control. Refer to HVAC Module Assembly Replacement .

Repair the short to ground in circuit 40. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Reconnect all connectors/components removed.
  3. Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
