Rear Seat Belt Buckle Replacement Captains Chair

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the seat cushion finish covers. Refer to Seat Trim Replacement - Side in Seats.
  2. Remove the nut securing the buckle side belt from the seat cushion frame.
  3. Remove the buckle side belt from the seat.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the buckle side belt to the seat.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the nut securing buckle side belt to the seat cushion frame.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the rear seat buckle belt nut to 53 N·m (39 lb ft).

  5. Install the seat cushion finish covers. Refer to Seat Trim Replacement - Side in Seats.

Rear Seat Belt Buckle Replacement Bucket Seat

Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 29843-9 Door Lock Striker and Seat Belt Torx® Wrench


    Object Number: 179389  Size: SH

    Important: Avoid damaging the bucket seat cushion cover when removing the rear bucket seat buckle side belts.

  1. Carefully move the seat cushion cover away from the buckle side belt in order to expose the bolt.
  2. Use the J 29843-9 in order to remove the bolt securing the buckle side belt from the seat.
  3. Remove the buckle side belt from the seat.

  1. Install the buckle side belt to the seat.

  4. Tighten
    Tighten the rear seat buckle belt bolt to 53 N·m (39 lb ft).

  5. Carefully reposition the cushion cover down over the buckle side belt bolt.
