Did you perform the seat belt diagnostic system check?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Buckle the driver's seat belt.
  3. Disconnect the body control module (BCM) connector C2.
  4. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Does the seat belt indicator stay ON continuously?

Replace the IPC. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.

Important: Perform the set up procedure for the new IPC.

Connect a test lamp between the driver seat belt switch signal circuit and a known B+. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Locate and repair a short to ground in the driver seat belt switch signal circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
  2. If the driver seat belt switch signal circuit is OK, replace the driver seat belt switch. Refer to Seat Belt Buckle Replacement - Left Front .

Replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control Systems.

  1. Reconnect all components.
  2. Verify that all components and connectors are properly mounted.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTCs.
