  1. Place the headlamp dimmer switch in the high beam position.
  2. Observe the high beam indicator.

Does the high beam indicator illuminate?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Do the high beam headlamps illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Using a test lamp check for a poor connection or open in the high beam control circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does a poor connection or open exist?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

Repair a poor connection or an open in the high beam control circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Has the repair been made?

Go to Step 7

Replace the IPC. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.

Important: Perform the set up procedure for the IP.

Did you complete the replacement and the set up procedure?

Go to Step 7

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?
