Removal Procedure
  1. Open and suitably support the hood.

    2. Object Number: 315245 Size: SH
  2. Reposition the electrical center from the right front end sheet metal diagonal brace. Refer to Relay/Fuse Center Replacement .
  3. Remove the windshield wiper system module cover. Refer to Wiper Motor Cover Replacement in Wipers/Washer System.
  4. Remove the coolant recovery reservoir on the left front end sheet metal diagonal brace. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement .
  5. Remove the bolt from the rear hole in the front end sheet metal diagonal brace at the wheelhouse.
  6. Remove the bolts/screws from the front of the front end sheet metal diagonal brace at the upper tie bar.
  7. Remove the front end sheet metal diagonal brace from the engine compartment.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 315245 Size: SH
  1. Install the front end sheet metal diagonal brace to the engine compartment.
  2. Align the rear hole of the front end sheet metal diagonal brace to the hole in the wheelhouse.
  3. Align the holes of the front end sheet metal diagonal brace to the holes in the upper tie bar.

    4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the bolts/screws to the front of the front end sheet metal diagonal brace at the upper tie bar.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt/screw to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the bolt to the rear hole in the front end sheet metal diagonal brace at the wheelhouse.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 47 N·m (34 lb ft).

  6. Reposition the electrical center to the right front end sheet metal diagonal brace. Refer to Relay/Fuse Center Replacement .
  7. Install the windshield wiper system module cover. Refer to Wiper Motor Cover Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.
  8. Install the coolant recovery reservoir on the left front end sheet metal diagonal brace. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement .
  9. Close the hood.
