DEFINITION: The lock or unlock functions do not work through one of the door lock switches. However, the other door lock switch locks and unlocks the doors.

  1. Make sure the door are unlocked.
  2. Disconnect the inoperative door lock switch electrical connector.
  3. Connect a test lamp between B+ and the inoperative door lock switch harness connector terminal E. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

While observing the door locks, connect a 10A fuse jumper between the inoperative door lock switch harness connector terminal A and terminal E. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Do the door locks lock?

While observing the door locks, connect a 10A fuse jumper between the inoperative door lock switch harness connector terminal D and terminal E. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Do the door locks unlock?

Replace the inoperative door lock switch. Refer to Door Trim Plate Replacement .

Repair the poor connection or the open in circuit 750. Refer to Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Reinstall the connectors and components that were removed.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  4. Remove the BCM PRGRM fuse.
  5. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position. (The BCM sounds the chime a number of times equivalent to the BCM type installed on the vehicle).
  6. Turn the ignition switch from the ACC position, to the LOCK position, then back to the ACC position within 1 second. (The BCM sounds any DTCs stored).
